ACL ADM. WM.M. CALLAGHAN FORKLIFT TRUCKS Quarterly Maint EQUIPMENT 3 MONTHS PLANNED MAINT. PH M & O FORK TRUCKS (Operate / Maintain) – QUARTERLY

SERIAL: PCS CGO005

Note:

Engineering staff should be familiar with the basic principal of operation, location of shut offs (in the case of a diesel driven truck) and operating parameters prior to undertaking this exercise. Consult Ship's technical library for manufacturer's instructions. Pre use Inspections are to be performed prior to every use, and are required by OSHA.

Pre use inspection items are numbers 1 through 10.

A complete inspection of the operating fork truck is performed following 3 months of operation

In a well-lit place; perform the following inspection:

1. Fuel level, drain water from filter if equipped

2. Check the electrolyte level in the battery, and condition of cables are corrosion free

3. Check oil levels, Engine, Transmission and Hydraulic tank

4. Inspect level of coolant in reserve tank, is it clean and rust free?

5. Inspect condition of alternator and water pump driving belts are they free of cracks or frays?

6. Look for signs of leakage, seals, rams and hoses, control levers, all leak free?

7. Condition of wheels and tires, pneumatic? Is the pressure to spec?

8. Lights, horn and seat belt operationally safe?

9. Is the back up indicator audible when in reverse?

10. Test full range of motion of steering, and fork lift features.

11. Grease steering linkages

12. Change out filters (oil: engine and hydraulic, air, and fuel) based on usage.

13. Inspect fork thickness and compare to original width. Look for bends and cracks from overloading. A 10% reduction in width of a new fork blade translates to a 20% reduction on load capacity.

ACL ADM. WM.M. CALLAGHAN FRYER, DEEP, GALLEY (TO BE REMOVED) Semi Annual Maint EQUIPMENT 6 MONTHS PLANNED MAINT. PH M & O GALLEY DEEP FRYER (Operate / Maintain) – SEMI-ANNUALLY

SERIAL: PCS GAL004

With fryer in operation, smoking fat means temperature is too high or fat has broken down. Gum on kettle edges denotes need for thorough cleaning. Check to see accumulations of food and crumbs are not present around edge of deep fryer.

Place a thermometer in fat and see that deep fryer temperature corresponds to fryer setting. Note temperature difference. A constantly increasing pattern of temperature difference can indicate temperature controls are failing. Also see that a specific fryer temperature is maintained and does not fluctuate for a specific setting. Test fryer emergency high temperature shut down function.

When fryer is shut down for changing of fat assure heating elements are clean and free of food debris. Clean with an approved cleaner.

I. Parallel the other running SSDG with the buss and distribute the load between the two machines.

1. Activate the port and stbd clutch actuating air in the pneumatic clutch controls.

2. Activate the main lube oil systems. Drain a sample of lube oil from sump of each line shaft bearing and check condition. Replenish line shaft bearing sumps oil as necessary. Check to see that slinger ring is free. Start 2 out of 3 lube oil service pumps. Simulate failure of main lube oil systems. Test the operation of emergency shutdown alarms and shutdown equipment. Test the auto start of standby lube oil pumps and emergency lube oil pump.

Ensure adequate supply of lube oil to turbines, bearings and gears. Check sight flows and pressure gages to ensure proper oil flow to each bearing.

Verify unlocked or unlock the port and stbd shafts.

3. Check the shaft bearing oil levels and add oil as required. Verify the stern tube and strut tube bearing oil supply tank levels and system lineup. Test run Stern tube and Strut lube oil pumps, checking temperature of oil and heater operation. Drain a sample of oil from system low point and check for water.
