Statement of Work

The Oklahoma–Texas Water Science Center (Oklahoma Branch Office) requires a new drilling rig. To collect soil and sediment samples, to collect borehole geophysical data, to collect groundwater samples from temporary test holes, the Center needs a new drilling rig that has updated safety options.

Salient Characteristics Design and Materials

‐ The rig should have a winch to safely hold probing rods while tripping rods in and out of boreholes.

‐ The rig should have a 70‐inch track base to ensure maximum stability from rollovers.

‐ The rig should have a wireless or tethered remote control system so the operator can maintain a safe distance from the machine while tracking across terrain.

‐ The rig should be less than 10,000‐lbs to ensure ability to transport with an additional truck and trailer without a Commercial Driver’s License.

‐ The rig should have a rear blade that can be dropped to the ground for increased rig stabilization while on slopes to help prevent rollovers.

‐ The rig should have a breakout clamp to help trip rods out of boreholes and break joints between rods.

‐The rig should have the ability to auger, direct‐push, core, and install wells.

Brand name or equal to Geoprobe model 7822DT soil probing unit to include Geoprobe Model GH63 Hammer, tethered and wireless remote system with the additional tooling.
