Fort Leavenworth Pavement Rehabilitation Design Plan

This document is a design and planning submittal for pavement rehabilitation work at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The project encompasses full-depth removal and replacement, as well as 2-inch mill and overlay with patching work across multiple facility areas including Sherman Avenue, Buford Avenue, Meade Avenue, B-52 Parking Lots, Grant Park West Alley, Grant Park East Alley, and West Warehouse Road. The total estimated work includes approximately 122,904 square feet of pavement treatment across the designated areas, with Sherman Avenue requiring 5,640 square feet of full-depth work and 75,210 square feet of mill and overlay treatment. The project is phased into four distinct construction phases, with a drawing submittal deadline of June 25, 2026, at which point the project will be ready to award.

The design documentation includes comprehensive site plans, phasing diagrams, and detour plans necessary for construction execution. Construction activities will be sequenced through four phases to manage traffic flow and minimize disruption to fort operations. Sheet keynotes indicate standard construction markers for phase beginning and ending points, roadway closure signage requirements, and curb and gutter removal specifications. The detour plans for Phase 3 and Phase 4 show alternative traffic routing around the primary construction areas, with directional signage indicated along Sherman Avenue and other major thoroughfares. All plans are drawn to specified scales and include a sheet list with cover sheet, phasing plan, plan views, and detour plan components for contractor reference during bid preparation and execution.
