About this file
The document is a FEDLINK Lot 3 Lease Plan Requirements form for libraries to submit information about book and media leasing needs. The form allows federal agencies and libraries to specify detailed requirements for leasing publications, including format (books, audiobooks, DVDs), content type (fiction, non-fiction, specific genres), target audience, selection frequency, and physical processing preferences. Key features include the ability to lease popular titles without purchasing multiple copies, with an option to purchase items at a reduced price after the lease term, and customizable plan parameters such as number of titles per year, selection method, and additional processing requirements like spine labels, barcode labels, and book protectors. The completed form should be emailed to FEDLINKbooks@loc.gov with the agency's specific FEDLINK ID, and a separate form must be submitted for each unique lease plan.

FEDLINK Lot 3 - Lease Plan Requirements
INSTRUCTIONS FOR LEASING BOOKS & MEDIA VIA FEDLINK
This form is for submitting information about your agency’s requirements for Lease Plans. Customer leases publications from the supplier instead of buying them, and retains an option to purchase items at a reduced price when the term of the lease is over. The leasing plan is a mechanism for a library to expand the resources available to its users by obtaining popular titles as needed, without having to buy multiple copies for the permanent collection.
Leasing also extends the shelf life of heavily used titles.
