About this file
This document is a Purchase Description (PD) for a Coriolis Flowmeter Calibrator (CFC) required by the Air Force Metrology Calibration Program (AFMETCAL). The CFC must generate water-based calibration flows ranging from 50 to 110,000 kg/hour, with precise measurement capabilities including flow uncertainty of 0.08% for mass flow and 0.15% for volumetric flow. Key technical requirements include operating across temperatures of 50-100°F, operating humidity of 10-85% RH, a 30-minute maximum warm-up time, and the ability to measure and display flow in multiple volume and mass units.
The system requires a Windows 11-compatible controller with specific hardware specifications, comprehensive software support, and a detailed operator's manual. Additional requirements include four master Coriolis meters, redundant measurement sets, rugged shipping cases, and a five-year warranty with annual recalibration. The procurement is currently in a pre-solicitation market research phase, with the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center at Wright Patterson Air Force Base conducting the research to identify potential sources and market capabilities. No funds are currently available for the acquisition, and this is a request for information (RFI) / Sources Sought Synopsis.
