About this file

This document is a Draft Statement of Work (SOW) for blood products and services for the Reno VA Medical Center. The SOW outlines a five-year Firm-Fixed Price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to provide blood components, derivatives, and related services. The contractor must supply leukoreduced red blood cell units, blood components, and plasma derivatives from volunteer donors, processed in compliance with American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and FDA standards.

Key requirements include providing blood products with three order types (routine, ASAP, and STAT), with specific delivery timeframes: ASAP orders must be processed within 4 hours and ready to ship, while STAT orders must be processed and ready to ship within 1 hour. The contract covers 24/7 delivery services, reference testing, mobile donor operations, and adherence to strict quality and donor selection criteria. This opportunity is currently in a Sources Sought phase conducted by VHA's Network Contracting Office 21 on behalf of VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System, aimed at market research to potentially develop a future Request for Quote (RFQ) with potential small business set-aside considerations.
