Statement of Work
305 MXG Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Refresh
1. The scope of work for this refresh is as follows in the Statement of Work (SOW). The contractor, shall furnish all equipment unless other-wise specified. No alteration, additions or deletions shall be made to the contract unless prior approval is given in writing by the Contracting Officer (CO).
305 MXG requires 44 APX6000 portable radios built to the JB MDL Radio system specifications. Each year, 305 MXG phases out and replaces radios that are more than five years old, exceeding the life of the equipment warranty life cycle, or damaged. These radios will ensure positive communication, safety, and that the mission continues efficiently and seamlessly.
2. Justification: These radios are used day in and day out, sometimes around the clock.
Wear and tear of the maintenance career field requires that members have warrantied, current equipment for proper communication. It is imperative that all units maintain the same equipment to allow flexibility in the AOR in accordance with mission, emergency action, and Unit Type Code (UTC) communications requirements, this is specialized equipment—this is why the 305 MXG refreshes this equipment yearly.
In addition, the equipment provided is already built to JB MDL system’s specifications providing a seamless transition and continuation of the mission, emergency action, and UTC communication requirements. There will be no “down time” to replace equipment.
