About this file

This is a Requirements/Specification Document for a Pulse Generator procurement by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Communications Technology Laboratory, Radio Frequency Technology Division, Electromagnetic Fields Group (672.02).

NIST requires one (1) high-voltage, unipolar pulse generator with nanosecond pulse width specifications to support Rydberg Research and Multiple OA Projects. The pulse generator must deliver maximum pulse output exceeding 10 kV in 50 Ohms with 100 picosecond rise time, 3 nanosecond decay time, and 1 kHz repetition rate. The unit must support both single shot mode and internal/external trigger options, operate on 100-240 VAC, 50-60Hz input power at less than 5 amps, fit within a 19-inch rack at 3U height, and weigh no more than 7.5 kilograms. The output connector must be N-type (HN) high voltage.

Prospective vendors must possess an active Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) and a Unique Entity Identification Number (UEI) registered as "Active" on SAM.gov at time of award. Delivery is specified to NIST-Boulder, 325 Broadway, Boulder, Colorado 80305, with acceptance not expected to exceed 7 business days. The base manufacturer warranty is acceptable. No planning visits, installation services, training, calibration, maintenance, or travel requirements are specified. Electronic media, facility utility considerations, and government-furnished material/equipment are not applicable to this procurement.
