About this file
This draft Statement of Work (SOW) details a procurement for 96-inch forklift tines for a 2024 Doosan forklift model DV180S-7 at the Navy Munitions Command Atlantic Unit Charleston, located at Joint Base Charleston Weapons Station in Goose Creek, South Carolina. The specific equipment requirements include precise technical specifications for the forklift tines, such as upright width of 9.84 inches, blade length of 95.98 inches, and a minimum rated lifting capacity of 36,050 pounds, with the primary purpose of replacing shorter 54-inch tines that potentially risk damaging ISO containers.
The document also includes information about the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS), which is a Department of Defense force protection program for managing personnel identity and access at military installations. To obtain base access, individuals must acquire DoD sponsorship, undergo a thorough identity check using a passport or Real ID-compliant driver's license, be vetted against criminal justice databases, and provide official documentation explaining the reason for base access. Additional details about DBIDS access can be found through provided Navy and Defense Manpower Data Center websites.

DRAFT
In order to obtain base access, an individual needs to acquire DoD sponsorship, have a thorough identity check, be properly vetted, and have a legitimate reason for base access. Identity checks require a passport or a Real ID Act-compliant state driver's license. Vetting occurs when the individual's background and ID are compared against authoritative criminal justice databases, and the individual has a letter or official document from the sponsoring organization, which articulates the reason for access. When the above criteria are satisfactorily met, DBIDs credentials are issued. Additional information is available at:
