1.1 BACKGROUND The Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) is a Department of Defense entity responsible for research, development, test and evaluation, engineering, and fleet support for US Navy ships, submarines, military watercraft and unmanned vehicles. NSWCPD Code 42 is the In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) electrical power and generation systems installed on surface ships, submarines, and assault crafts.

NSWCPD Code 423 manages the 2SCOG Program for the US Navy. The 2SCOG program manages the rotatable pool and repair pipeline for US Navy non-nuclear propulsion assets, which includes Marine Gas Turbines used for propulsion, power generation, and auxiliary power on various US Navy surface and amphibious platforms. Marine Gas Turbines (MGTs) are maintained on a condition basis such that an engine is only removed from service after it has failed or, based on inspection, if it is likely to fail before the next ship availability.

1.2 SCOPE OF WORK This specification identifies the requirements for commercial depot level overhaul of US Navy 501-K34 Gas Turbine Engine, National Stock Number (NSN) 2835 01-258-7176. Offers will be solicited from established commercial overhaul depots that are technically capable in commercial overhaul of the US Navy 501-K34 Gas Turbine Engine. All offerors must have a valid Rolls Royce Marine North America (RRMNA) Authorized Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Center (AMROC) agreement that provides for repair and procurement of new parts for the US Navy 501-K34 Gas Turbine Engine in order to be eligible for award and must provide a copy of the certificate as part of the proposal.
