About this file
This is a federal solicitation for forest management field sampling services issued by the USDA Forest Service. The contract covers vegetation response to silvicultural treatments in the Chippewa National Forest, spanning multiple counties in Minnesota. The procurement includes a base year and two optional years, with each performance period running from October 1 to September 30. The total estimated hours vary by year: 333 hours in the base year and 600 hours in each option year, with invoicing calculated at 15-minute intervals.
The project requires specialized field vegetation sampling support for timber management activities, involving complex research tasks such as following established research protocols, conducting specialized plant measurements, and providing digital sample data with metadata. The solicitation notes that contractors must submit pricing for all items, with one award planned. A site visit is highly encouraged, and interested vendors can contact Doug Kastendick to reserve a spot. The contract is specifically for the USDA Forest Service's NRS 7 research unit, located in Minnesota, with work to be performed across Itasca, Aitkin, Cass, and St. Louis Counties.
