PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT
Description:
The U.S. Energy Information (EIA) requires detailed economic news, analysis, and data to inform, support, and produce the Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO), Annual Energy Outlook (AEO) and International Energy Outlook (IEO). The EIA needs this to contain in-depth exploration of current and short-, medium-, and long-term market dynamics, including financial, commodity, industry, labor, trade markets, and macroeconomic markets across all major economies, as well as providing the global view. These news, analysis, and data are utilized across multiple teams at EIA for use in high visibility products. Some ways this product suite will support the fulfillment of EIA’s mission include:
• Provides timely market data that informs the STEO, such as macroeconomic variables in financial, labor, industry, commodity, trade, and overall output in key regions of the world
• Includes prescient analysis into current and short-term market dynamics that informs the
STEO and justifies model structure updates
• Provides detailed breaking news and analysis utilized for weekly EIA Financial Market and
Petroleum Markets meetings
• Gives alternative short- and medium-term economics forecasts for either corroborating or questioning EIA’s short- and medium-term forecasts taken from Oxford Global and IHS, Markit
• Includes market analysis, such as the Chief Economists note and long-term global economics outlook, that informs the IEO and AEO, such as macroeconomic variables in financial, labor, industry, commodity, trade, and overall output in key regions of the world
• Provides market analysis, such as the long-term global economics outlook, that informs key macroeconomic trends and justifies and allows for medium- and long-term macroeconomic updates in the AEO and IEO
• Gives short-, medium-, and long-run market data, analysis, and outlooks on key global and regional trends that provide rich material for new macroeconomic model development in STEO and the IEO, and possibly the AEO in the future.
