About this file

This Performance Work Statement (PWS) details the requirements for testing cathodic protection systems on eight water tanks located at Beale Air Force Base. The contractor must test and validate cathodic protection systems between August and September each year, with inspections including tank-to-water potential profile measurements, electrical measurements of anodes and reference cells, rectifier and control system inspections, and system adjustments for optimum corrosion control. The eight water tanks range in capacity from 45,000 to 3,000,000 gallons, with both galvanic and impressed cathodic protection system types.

Key requirements include submitting a detailed project plan at least ten working days before starting work, maintaining all necessary safety and environmental protocols, and preparing an annual performance booklet with testing, troubleshooting, and repair priorities. The contractor must be certified by professional associations like the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) or Steel Tank Institute (STI), comply with all applicable safety and environmental regulations, and follow specific inspection guidelines outlined in UFC 3-570-06. The work will be performed during normal business hours, with potential for alternative hours if approved in advance by the Project Manager.
