About this file
This Draft Performance Work Statement (PWS) details requirements for the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Corona Division to acquire machined components for MK 25 MOD 1 Canister Fit Check Tools (FCTs). The specific parts required include 1 Aft Plate, 24 Wear Plates (Forward and Aft), 24 Dorsal Simulation Fins, and 8 Folding Fins, with precise manufacturing specifications outlined in the document.
Key requirements include heat treating parts to 50-62 Rockwell C hardness, applying solid film lubricant, using Manganese Phosphate pretreatment, and meeting strict dimensional tolerances per referenced military drawings. All parts must be delivered to NSWC Corona Division in Norco, California no later than 30 June 2025, with comprehensive inspection documentation required. The parts are intended to support Vertical Launch System (VLS) canister production, with PEO IWS 3L tasking NSWC Corona to fabricate two MK 25 MOD 1 Canister FCTs.

2. BACKGROUND
PEO IWS 3L has tasked NSWC Corona to fabricate two MK 25 MOD 1 Canister FCTs in support of Vertical Launch System (VLS) cannister production. We are looking to have an outside machine shop assist in the effort by fabricating the listed quantities of parts to help us meet a 30 June 2025 delivery deadline.
3. SCOPE
To support the need outlined in the Introduction and Background above, we are requesting a contract to order these parts as soon as possible. All parts will need to meet drawing tolerances and specifics covered by the pertinent notes as well as additional requirements covered in the Requirements section below.

5. REQUIREMENTS
NSWC Corona MS24 requires the acquisition of the following machined components for MK 25 MOD 1 Canister FCTs to be delivered NLT 30 June 2025.
Qty 1 P/N 7251028-2, Plate, Aft Qty 8 P/N 7251029-3, Wear Plate, Forward Qty 8 P/N 7251029-4, Wear Plate, Forward Qty 8 P/N 7251030-2, Wear Plate, Aft Qty 16 P/N 7251032-3, Fin, Dorsal Simulation Qty 8 P/N 7251032-4, Fin, Dorsal Simulation Qty 8 P/N 7251033-2, Fin, Folding
All dimensions within listed tolerances on the drawings shall be met, along with specifics covered by the pertinent notes applying to the part dash numbers being fabricated.
All identification markings per the drawing flag notes shall be lightly machined into each part in the approximate location shown IAW MIL-STD-130. Letter height and depth to be adequate for easy identification after surface treatment is applied. Use 62218 for the manufacturer CAGE code.
Additionally, all parts shall be heat treated and properly tempered in the range of 50-62 Rc, to balance hardness and toughness. Certificates shall be provided for each batch of parts. Following heat treat, parts shall be sandblasted with appropriate medium to clean up the parts without altering the machined finish.
All parts, including P/N 7251028-2, shall require solid film lubricant IAW MIL-PRF-46010 or SAE AS 5272, Type 2, color optional. Manganese Phosphate pretreatment (MIL-DTL-16232 Type M) is required. Touch-up allowed IAW MIL-PRF-46147, color optional.
All parts shall be inspected to meet all drawings requirements and inspection documentation shall be provided with each deliverable. No out of tolerance (OOT) parts shall be accepted.
