PURCHASE DESCRIPTION

Mitutoyo Legex 9106 Coordinate Measuring Machine

1. INTRODUCTION

2. BACKGROUND

The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Corona Division, requires a 9106 Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).

The NSWC facility has a requirement to establish and improve large-scale fixtures and gages inspection and certification capabilities. The Mitutoyo CMMs are critical in the MSTL’s ability to inspect and certify complex geometries of fixtures and gages swiftly and with high accuracy. The machines are integral in the methodologies of most of the MSTL’s workload.

This is a brand name procurement due to Mitutoyo being the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the Legex 9106 CMM. The 9106 CMM is the machine that best meets current lab requirements because it can make the measurements to the precision needed. It includes software compatible with multiple current measurement machines in lab and uses processes/models and programs currently in use.
