The buttons attached to the blouse for use with the adjustment tabs shall meet the requirements stated in 3.5 when tested in accordance with ASTM D5034, except that the button shall be slid on top of 1-inch-wide grips separated at least 3/8 inch so that the button loosely rests evenly on top of the grips. Only manually adjusted grips shall be allowed, not pneumatic. The button attachment stitching shall be placed in the middle of the bottom grips and adjusted an additional 3/8 inch down so that the grips grab the fabric just below the stitching, not on the stitching. The tensile machine shall be run per the test method, and the force required to pull the button from the sewn garment shall be recorded.

4.3.2.4 Toxicity test. When the toxicity requirement (see 3.5.1) can be demonstrated with historical use data, toxicity testing may not be required on the finishing treatments used6.2. If dermal toxicity testing is required, it shall be performed in accordance with the contract, as specified (see 6.2).

4.3.3 In-process examination. Visual examinations shall be made at any point or during any phase of the manufacturing process to determine whether material or construction details that cannot be examined in the finished product are in accordance with the requirements specified herein. Materials that contain defects and damages, as defined in the visual examination of 4.3.4, shall be removed from production. Any in-process nonconformance remaining in the finished material shall be classified as a defect in accordance with the visual examination of 4.3.4.

4.3.4 Visual inspection of end items.

4.3.4.1 Sampling and acceptance criteria for visual inspection of end items. Unless otherwise specified in the contract (see 6.2), sampling for inspection shall be performed conforming to ASQ/ANSI Z1.4.
