DESCRIPTION:

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Forensic Services (FS) division would like to quickly but thoroughly train 1-2 scientists to be firearms examiners to address firearms backlog concerns. The CBIFS currently has a full training program for firearms analysis including serial number restoration, distance determination, tool marks, and all necessary equipment, but cannot currently afford to take a senior scientist off the bench. We are soliciting bids from qualified technical firearms trainers to perform this training efficiently and thoroughly so we can get our new scientist(s) performing high quality casework as quickly as possible.

The training can take place either at the CBI facility in Greeley, CO, the laboratory/facility of the trainer, or a combination of both. We have the capability for remote communication using Google Hangouts.
