About this file
This document is a Request for Bids (RFB) for Custodial Supplies issued by the City of Livonia, Michigan's Department of Public Works, Public Service Division. The bid solicitation invites vendors to submit proposals for custodial supplies, with bids due on January 28, 2025, at 2:00 PM local time. Vendors are required to submit bids through the Michigan Inter-Governmental Trade Network (MITN) website, with a virtual bid opening via Zoom. The contract is for a one-year period in 2025-2026, with an option to renew for two additional one-year periods upon mutual agreement. Bidders may submit proposals for all or some products, with winning bids to be awarded by product type.
The specifications include detailed requirements for product submission, including allowing existing or comparable substitute products, mandating Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for chemical products, and requiring disinfectant products to be effective against MRSA. Vendors must provide documentation for product substitutions, and products requiring respirators will not be accepted. The city reserves the right to award bids by individual line items and to reject or accept any proposals. Pricing will be submitted via an Excel spreadsheet, and local Livonia-based firms may receive a slight bidding advantage. Delivery will be to the Facility Maintenance Building in the Department of Public Works yard, with orders to be placed at various intervals throughout the year.
