This document is Addendum No. 2 to the Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Museum of Florida History Master Solicitation No. DOS-ITN-23/24-026 issued by the Florida Department of State. The addendum provides written responses to vendor questions regarding the master plan process, including the Museum of Florida History staff's involvement in collaboration with the design contractor, the ability of the awarded vendor to bid on subsequent projects, and the format for submitting design documents. The addendum also provides information on current museum staffing, visitor demographics, and the museum's collections strategy and protocols.
The state and local contract opportunity is for the development of a master plan for the Museum of Florida History, located in Leon County and the city of Tallahassee, Florida. The selected vendor will not be allowed to receive awards for subsequent procurements related to the implementation of the master plan. The price proposal must include all services, materials, and labor necessary to complete the master plan, and the Department of State will not pay additional charges if the vendor's actual costs exceed the proposed costs.

Vendor Question Department Response
1 N/A N/A Can the Museum of Florida History staff better clarify their involvement in the Master plan process in collaboration with the Design Contractor. Will the museum staff provide content descriptions, artifact images and information, images and archival film when needed, in collaboration with the Design Contractor, for the narrative portion of the masterplan?
The Museum of Florida History (MFH) staff will work very closely with the design contractor on developing the Master Plan. MFH staff and other Department of State (DOS) staff with subject area expertise will advise on historical topics to be included in the exhibits, as well as appropriate artifacts, photographs, immersive spaces, and other exhibit components needed to interpret the historical topics.
MFH staff will provide feedback and approvals of all design concepts throughout the process to ensure that the final product is acceptable. MFH staff will do its best within reason to provide descriptions, artifact images, and other things deemed necessary for the narrative portion of the Master Plan, however, it is the responsibility of the vendor to become familiar enough with the Museum to be able to generate their own requests and to incorporate content and other materials without significant input from staff.
2 N/A N/A Will the firm awarded to conduct the creation of the Master Plan allowed to bid for the subsequent projects for design, implementation, & installation at MoFH?
No. The vendor selected for the award under this Invitation to Negotiate will not be allowed to receive awards for subsequent procurements dealing with the specific subject of this award.
