Dorris Ranch Nature Playground – Addendum 1

This is an addendum to the Contract Documents for the Dorris Ranch Nature Playground project issued by the Willamalane Park and Recreation District in Springfield, Oregon. Addendum 1, dated May 18, 2026, modifies the original Contract Documents dated May 6, 2026, and introduces clarifications regarding owner-provided versus contractor-installed products, installation specifications for the log bridge foundation with metric dimensions, and adds Bid Alternate 2 for construction of approximately 90 linear feet of split rail fence. The project consists of construction of a children's nature playground featuring play areas, concrete paving, compacted gravel paths, paved ADA parking, boulders, logs, climbing structures, pea gravel digging areas, and associated landscaping work. Bids are due at 2:00 p.m. on May 27, 2026, with bid opening at 2:05 p.m. at the Bob Keefer Center, 250 South 32nd Street, Springfield, Oregon. A pre-bid meeting was held on May 13, 2026, with attendees including DJ Miller Construction, D2 Excavation, Classic Design & Construction, GT Landscape Solutions, and Grassroots Landscape. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum in the Bid Form under Section 00 41 13 and on the outside of their bid envelope; failure to do so may result in disqualification. The project manual and revised bid form are incorporated as part of the addendum attachments.

The bid structure requires contractors to provide lump sum pricing for the base bid and separate pricing for two bid alternates: Alternate 1 for concrete edging in place of basalt rock edging, and Alternate 2 for the split rail fence construction. The contract award shall be made to the responsible bidder with the lowest sum of the total base bid plus selected bid alternates, at the Owner's discretion. Bidders must identify subcontractors within two working hours after the bid submittal deadline and provide performance bonds, payment bonds, and evidence of insurance within 15 calendar days of contract award. The bid shall remain open for acceptance for 90 days following the bid opening or such longer period as the bidder may agree to in writing. Bidders are required to represent that they have visited the site, examined all contract documents and subsurface conditions, are familiar with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, and have disclosed any conflicts, errors, ambiguities, or discrepancies in the bid documents to the Project Manager. All required sales and use taxes must be included in the stated bid prices unless separately itemized.
