Green Mountain National Forest

Specifications for (5) Utility-Type Snowmobiles

UNITS MUST BE FOB DESTINATION PRICING

Vendor shall provide the Contracting Officer with brochures of equipment it intends to provide.

So that the Contracting Officer may decide whether the equipment meets the contract specifications.

The snowmobiles shall be completely new and in production by the manufacture at the time of delivery. It shall be equipped with all accessories, attachments, tools, and spare parts normally furnished to commercial purchasers as standard equipment whether specified herein on not.

FIVE Utility-Type Snowmobiles Snowmobiles will be utilized by employees for mission support work on trails and backcountry riding. Equipment will be used in deep snow, groomed trails, ice, and mountain terrain.

Snowmobile Specifications: 5 Each Utility-Type Snowmobiles Engine: 540cc - 650cc, with 2-Stroke Engines.

Track: The track shall consist of an endless belt of rubber. The track shall be 154-157 inches long, by 20 inches wide, with a 1.25 - 1.5-inch profile. The track shall be replaceable.

• Track will be Studded with carbide studs post manufacturing for ultimate safety.

2-Up Operator Seat: Snowmobile seating capacity shall be for two adults with a back rest for the passenger.

Starting System: Electric Start.

Reverse: A Reverse Drive system is required.

Emergency Control: An Emergency Stop Switch shall be provided.

Lighting System: The snowmobile shall be equipped with a minimum of two (2) sealed beam Headlights. A high and low beam and one Taillight for night operation.

Instruments: Instruments shall be mounted so they are convenient and visible from the operator's seat. All snowmobiles shall be equipped with speedometer, fuel gauge, engine temperature, and low oil light, a light switch, dimmer switch, and key operated ignition switch, and two (2) keys.

Cargo Storage: A Cargo Storage under the sear or at the rear.

Handlebars & Throttle: The Handlebars and Throttle shall be equipped with a heating system capable of keeping the operator's hands warm under normal operation conditions.

Mirrors: The snowmobile shall be equipped with two Mirrors.

Windshield: The snowmobile shall be equipped with a High - Ultra High Windshield.

• Include windshield side deflector kit.

• Include any additional windshield support components.

Tunnel Protectors: Shall be installed.

Ice Scratchers: Rail Ice Scratchers shall be installed.

Ski Skags/Runners: Carbide runners shall be installed.

Accessory Plug: The snowmobile shall be equipped with a 12v Accessory Plug if available.

Specifications for (5) Utility-Type Snowmobiles

Rear Bumper and Hitch: The rear of the snowmobile shall be equipped with a Heavy-Duty Bumper with a J-hitch.

Battery Cover: Please provide a battery cover if available.

Cover: A Heavy-Duty water-resistant Canvas Travel Cover with sufficient tie downs is required.

Manufacture's Identification: The snowmobile shall bear the Manufacture's Name or Trademark, Model and Serial Number either cast integral with, stamped or otherwise permanently marked upon the snowmobile, or on a corrosion resistant metal plate securely affixed to the snowmobile.

Operator's and Service Manual: An Operator's Manual and service manual shall be furnished which includes detailed operating, maintenance, and lubricating instructions as well as a complete list of replacement parts.

DELIVERY: To Green Mountain National Forest, 4387 US Route 4, Mendon, VT 05701.

Delivery must be coordinated at least two workdays prior to arrival. Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., or to a dealer location within a 50-mile radius.

No Government personnel or equipment is available for physical assistance in off-loading at either government site. The National Forest office does not have a loading dock or unloading equipment on the premises.
