CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF CLEVELAND

EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

In order to provide equal employment and advancement opportunities to all individuals, employment decisions at the Diocese will be based on merit, qualifications, and abilities. Except where required or permitted by law, employment practices will not be influenced or affected by an applicant's or employee's race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law. Nothing in this policy shall require the Diocese to act in a manner contrary to the beliefs and teachings of the Catholic Church or diminish its rights as a religious organization. In order to maintain a direction of mission of the Diocese consistent with the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church, active membership in the Catholic Church is a condition of employment for certain positions. For those positions where it is not a condition of employment and the employee is not Catholic, the employee is expected to respect and support the mission and values of the Catholic Church.

The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland takes complaints of discrimination seriously and encourages anyone with such a complaint to contact:
