About this file
This document is a Timber Sale Prescription from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources - Forest Resources Division for a timber sale contract in Compartment 113. The contract covers 163.2 acres across multiple stands in Luce County, Michigan. The work can begin immediately and must be completed by 9/1/2023. The prescription details the treatment objectives for each stand, which include clearcut with retention, leaving designated tree species and pockets of cedar. The contract requires paint line work, GPS boundary mapping, timber cruising, and adherence to specific marking and cruising specifications. Contractors must provide a list of names for those who marked or cruised each unit, a summary of paint used, and upload all data to the required systems.
The contract does not provide specific pricing information but states that payment will be made based on the estimated 163.2 acres. There are no set-asides mentioned, and the incumbent contractor is not identified. Funding sources and amounts are not detailed. The contract outlines several restrictions, including limits on the number of markers per cruise unit and coordination requirements for obtaining paint from the Newberry Field Office.
