About this file

This document is a Timber Sale Prescription for a contract opportunity issued by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources - Forest Resources Division. The contract involves commercial thinning of approximately 339 acres of White Pine stands located in Wexford County and Capac Village. The work can begin immediately and must be completed by February 28, 2025. The contractor will be responsible for marking trees for removal based on the specified treatment prescription. The DNR will provide the cruise layout file and GPS data files, and will also supply the paint to be used for marking. The contract requires the contractor to maintain a specific residual basal area between 60-80 ft2/ac after thinning.

The contract does not include paint line work, boundary GPS, or timber cruising, as these will be performed by the DNR. Pricing terms, set-asides, and funding details are not provided in the document. The contract is intended to maintain the health and quality of the White Pine stands in the area.
