PRESCRIPTION

Stand 47 - Thin stand down to average Basal Area of 80. Concentrate on releasing sugar maple crop trees. Mark some larger oaks to create large canopy gaps. The stand is very hilly, so mark paths up and down hills so that equipment can maneuver around. In addition to marking the stand down to 80 BA, place regen gaps in stand. Place roughly 30 gaps ½ acre to 1 acre in size.

Stand 14 - Thin stand down to a Basal Area of 120. Some rows might be tight. Mark for equipment maneuverability, remove poor quality trees, then mark trees to release crowns. Cut all trees that pose a threat to the snowmobile trail in future.
