About this file

This is Addendum 2 to the project manual for the Technical Education Center Renovation project issued by the Dickinson-Iron Intermediate School District (DIISD) in Michigan, with architectural services provided by Blomquist Architects, PLLC. The project involves the renovation of the Technical Education Center facility, with bids due on March 24th, 2026 at 2:00 PM Central US Time. The addendum clarifies and modifies previously issued project documents, including revised drawings covering demolition and renovation floor plans, building sections, detail plans, interior elevations, HVAC systems, plumbing schedules, and lighting specifications. Bidders are required to submit a brief schedule and sequencing narrative with their bid submission, including a tentative payment schedule. The project documents have been substantially revised, with multiple drawing sheets replaced with REV 1 versions and three new hazardous material abatement specification sections added to the project specifications.

The project is subject to Michigan prevailing wage requirements for Dickinson County, with wage schedules provided in the bid documents. All contractors must provide Payment and Performance Bonds equal to 100% of the total project cost as required by MCL 129.201 et seq for school construction projects exceeding $50,000, and bid security of 5% of the total bid amount. Minimum insurance coverage requirements include Commercial General Liability of $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate, Automobile Liability of $2 million per accident, and Workers' Compensation at statutory minimums. The addendum specifies approved product standards including Schlage RC series door readers, HES 9400 electric strikes, and EZ Glide overhead doors, and addresses construction details including rockwool cavity insulation in the base bid with a fiberglass batt alternative. Bidders may submit product alternates and have the option to select between mechanical and chemical methods for asbestos abatement, with cost and schedule impacts noted in the Optional Alternate section of the bid.
