About this file

This document is a procurement specification for a one-time lightbulb and ballast installation project issued by the Alabama Department of Human Resources (DHR) for the Walker County DHR facility. The specification outlines a mandatory site visit on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. CST, which all potential suppliers must attend to be eligible to submit a quote. The project involves replacing approximately 72 non-functional light bulbs and 5 ballasts in the interior of the facility, using materials supplied by DHR. Suppliers must be active in Alabama Buys and will be required to remove existing non-functional ballasts, install new standard ballasts, confirm proper wiring, and ensure full fixture functionality. The installation must be completed in one trip during June 2025.

The unit price for the project will cover installation, ballast and bulb removal, and cleanup, with all debris to be disposed of off-site. Suppliers must include all costs in their quote, including trip charges, mileage, supplies, labor, and any necessary permits or equipment. Payment terms are net 30, with payment made in arrears after service completion. All vendors must have a current license at the time of award and installation. The primary point of contact is Jamie McCollum, with additional contacts Robin Mize and the main office line provided for communication.
