Subject: Request for Information (RFI) for a SaaS-based Financial Risk Intelligence Platform
Dear Vendors, We submit this RFI on behalf of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). The
DFC is an independent agency of the United States federal government that was created through the
BUILD Act (Better Utilization of Investments Leading to Development) in 2018. The DFC consolidates and modernizes the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) and the Development Credit
Authority (DCA) of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The mission of the DFC is to help address development challenges and foreign policy priorities by investing in private development projects. It focuses on supporting sustainable economic growth, reducing poverty, and strengthening stability in developing countries. The DFC offers a range of financial products, including debt financing, political risk insurance, and support for private equity investment funds. It also has the ability to make limited equity investments.
The DFC operates under a mandate to invest in sectors such as energy, healthcare, critical infrastructure, and technology, with a focus on supporting projects in low and middle-income countries. It places particular emphasis on investments that empower women, support renewable energy, and boost economic growth in areas critical to U.S. foreign policy and national security.
As a development finance institution, the DFC seeks to achieve a double bottom line by making a positive impact on global development while also generating a return on investment, thereby creating a self-sustaining tool for economic development that operates at no net cost to American taxpayers.
