•Threaded connections shall not be allowed except for instrumentation, vents and drains < ¾” NPT.
•Ball valves > ¾” NPT shall be 3‐piece with welded ends; not NPT.
•Flow sight indicators shall be flanged; not NPT.
•Y‐strainers shall be flanged; not NPT.
•Relief / hydraulic bypass valves shall be flanged; not NPT.

BALL VALVES:

•Full port ¼ turn oil valves stainless steel ball and Teflon seals.
•> ¾” are three‐piece design with welded ends; not NPT.

STRAINERS:

• Strainers must be provided ahead of all oil pumps to protect them from damage from large particles. This must include the discharge pump under the vacuum chamber.

OIL PUMPS:

• Positive displacement, direct drive, rotary‐screw type pumps only; NO gear, spur, centrifugal or non‐screw type pump is acceptable. No belt or gearbox driven pumps are allowed.

OIL HEATER:

•Staged banks of individual elements ≤ 16 kW per element to avoid temperature overshoot and large temperature swings.
•Ability to lockout individual banks to limit power draw if needed.
•Individual elements shall be of low watt density type (≤ 11 watts/sq.in.).
•The individual heating elements must be encased in a heat transfer media that completely supports the heating element and provides even surface heating along the entire length of the fin tube (as opposed to heating elements that are only supported at intervals by ceramic stand offs).
•Shall have a proportional digital temperature controller and step controller built into the PLC and touch screen to automatically maintain the adjustable set temperature at varying flow and oil temperature conditions.
•Shall have an inlet oil flow switch prevents the heaters from operating unless suitable oil flow has been established.
•Shall have an over‐temperature switch using additional failsafe to prevent over‐heating the oil.

· The heater shall be split with 160 kW on the inlet side of the purifier and 64 kW on the outlet side.

· There shall be separate inlet/outlet heaters, they shall have independent controls and safeties.

HEATER COOL‐DOWN LOOP:

• The rotary tri‐screw inlet pump will utilize an external relief / hydraulic bypass valve that is mounted downstream of the pump and heaters.

HIGH CAPACITY INLET AND OUTLET FILTER HOUSINGS:

• Shall use six standard size 6" diameter x 18" long, (1 or 5‐micron inlet and 0.5‐micron outlet) pleated‐paper filter cartridges.

•Differential pressure gauge and switch to alarm when filters need changing.
•Filter elements are the non‐water absorbing type.
•ASME code designed and welded.
•Automatic air vent.
•Clean and dirty compartment drain valves.

VACUUM CHAMBER:

•Shall have a large sized three stage vacuum chamber provided for the removal of air, water, and volatile contaminants from the oil being processed.
•Shall be ≥ 32” diameter and ≥ 34” long.
•Shall be mounted horizontally so that there is adequate liquid surface area to minimize foaming of the oil.
•Shall have three‐stage oil dispersion:
1.Oil dispersing cartridges (Stage 1) – no spray nozzles.
2.Oil dispersing tray (Stage 2).
3.Large horizontal cross section chamber form maximum surface area exposure (stage 3).
•Has >5” illuminated observation port and >5” oil level sight glass.
•Have a strainer to prevent debris from entering the discharge pump after the chamber has been opened for maintenance.
•Shall have an inlet flow control valve which is hydraulically operated from a float in the vacuum chamber. The flow control valve maintains the proper oil level in the chamber and is fully automatically.
•High and low level switches are located inside as backups to the primary level control device and interlocked with pumps and alarms.
•Automatic thru‐beam foam detector to control foaming caused by excessive contamination. Unit will alarm on high foam condition.
•Epoxy coated interior to prevent corrosion due to moisture condensing during storage.

· 5 inch inspection windows

TOTALIZING AND FLOW RATE METER:

• Shall have a Flow rate meter and a totalizing meter.

· Touch screen display and data logging.

AUTOMATIC BYPASS:

• Hydraulic relief circuit shall be provided for automatic internal recirculation mode. It shall have the means that the flow rate from the unit can be adjusted infinitely from wide open to zero flow by adjusting one valve.

VACUUM SYSTEM: Shall be equipped with the following

VACUUM PUMP:

• Air cooled Dry Screw vacuum pump: standard flow rate ≥ 1800 gph.

· Vacuum pump using no oil to seal vacuum.

· Direct‐drive with no belts and pulleys.

· Must have proper factory silencers on them to attenuate noise and prevent backflow of liquid into the pump.

· Pumps must be installed using OEM’s specified clearances on all sides of the pump to allow for proper cooling and service.

VACUUM BOOSTER (ROOTS PUMP/BLOWER):

•It shall be equipped with internal bypass so that the pump does not require a pressure switch to cut‐in at a specified pressure.
•Shall be air cooled so that no cooling system is required.
•Shall be direct‐drive with no belts and pulleys.

VISIBLE OIL TRAP WITH DRIP LEG: Shall be equipped with the following

· A baffled oil trap to be provided in the vacuum system on the vacuum booster.

· A switch to stop the vacuum system if oil is detected in the vacuum stream.

· A full view port for visual view of any liquid in the trap.

· A drip leg shall be installed so that the operator can drain the fluid while the system is in operation: pumps running and without breaking vacuum or interrupting vacuum process to the transformer.

DIGITAL VACUUM GAUGES:

• Shall be digital with full scale from 0‐760 Torr (atmosphere)

TRAILERS:

•Trailer weight fully assembled = 10% under the GVWR of the trailer.
•Shall have one curbside and two roadside doors.
•Shall have 3 sets removable stairways at doors.
•Shall have curbside and roadside windows located on exit doors.
•Shall have insulated and sound attenuated wall with passage door with window.
•Shall have HVAC in the work area or supplemental heat in the rear.
