Description of Supplies: Portable Weld Fume Extractor

Functions to be performed:

Purchase 2 portable weld fume extractor units to support the weld shop.

Performance Required:

The 2 portable weld fume extractors must meet the following requirements:

• Has a nano fiber fire retardant media cartridge filter that is at least 16” length

• Has a built-in spark arrestance metal mesh prefilter that is at least 12”x12”x2” in size

• Air flow of at least 1,100 CFM allowing for 2 feet of vacuum pull from the welding being done

• Must have a compressed air connec on with the sole purpose of cleaning the filters and body of the fume extractor machine

• Mahine must weigh under 400lbs

• The noise the machine makes must not exceed 100 dBa

• Fume arm that is at minimum 7-feet in length and 7 inches in diameter

• The machine needs to be able to perform its primary func on (extrac ng fume) without the need for external machinery like an air compressor or vacuum

• The machine must meet Underwri ers Laboratories (UL) safety standards

Essential Physical Characteristics:

The fume arm of the machine should allow for the operator to easily position it near a weld project without the body of the machine being in the way of the operator. The body of the machine should be able to be at least 6 feet away from the operator.

Principles of Operation:

This item is necessary for the operation and safety of the weld shop.

End Item Application:

The end goal of this purchase is to support the weld shop and to avoid pauses in the means of production.

Intended Use, including equipment with which the item is to be used:

This equipment is intended to provide a safe environment for shop employees to weld without negative impacts to health due to fume inhalation.

Once the part is ordered the manufacturer should have the delivery completed within 4-8 weeks.

Warranty requirement:

The machine, machine components, and machine subsystems shall be warranted by the Contractor for a period of one year from the date of Final Acceptance. Date of Final Acceptance will be based on the Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) Acceptance date of the Contractor’s submitted invoice. For all components and subsystems that have a warranty period that exceeds one year, that warranty shall be provided to TYAD with the required documentation.

The Contractor shall have sole responsibility and accountability for all warranty items and time periods.
