About this file
This document is a Description of Requirement for a Vibration Dampening System for a FIB-SEM (Focused Ion Beam-Scanning Electron Microscope) for the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center. The system must mitigate AC and DC vibrations and electromagnetic interference for a Zeiss Crossbeam 350 FIB-SEM, with specific technical requirements including a low-profile vibration table with full 6 Degree-of-Freedom isolation, load capacity of 3700 lbs, and vibration isolation of 80-90% at 1Hz. The EMI shielding must provide continuous feedback field cancellation with 3-axis capabilities.
The solicitation is a 100% small business set-aside using NAICS code 334519, with quotes due by 30 April 2025 at 1:00 PM CST. Delivery is required within 30 days of award to the ERDC facility in Vicksburg, MS. The government will evaluate offers based on lowest price and technical capability, with the intent to award a contract without discussions. Offerors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and submit detailed technical descriptions, unit pricing, and warranty information via email to specified government contacts.

Description of Requirement
Vibration Dampening System for
FIB SEM
SPECIFICATIONS:
The GSL requires a vibration system to mitigate AC and DC vibrations from the surrounding environment to ensure proper function and full capability of the recently purchased FIB-SEM. The system must be compatible with the Zeiss Crossbeam 350 FIB-SEM system. The vibration dampening table must provide mitigation to allowable levels of horizontal and vertical vibration up to 10 Hz and less than 4 µm/s, 10 - 60 Hz less than 7 µm/s, and above 60 Hz less than 15 µm/s.
The EMI shielding must mitigate fields of DC component to 0.5 mG and AC component less than 1 mG.
Specifications of the equipment are:
Vibration Table
Low-profile platform Full 6 Degree-of-Freedom isolation design. X, Y, and Z translational degrees of motion and pitch, roll, and yaw rotational degrees of motion Advanced sensor amplifier board circuit to obtain vibration signals down to around
0.3 Hz
High-performance digital signal processor with 0.0005 seconds response time to vibration Less than 0.05μT Magnetic Field for optimal electron microscope performance Feedforward control for improved low-frequency vibration isolation performance 3700 lbs load capacity Active isolation bandwidth of 5 – 200 Hz Vibration isolation of 80-90% at 1Hz Leveling repeatability of ± 0.1 mm Vibration sensor with a sensitivity of 2.55 V/in/s (100.4 V/m/s) ± 10%
EMI Shielding
Controller with sensors Continuous feedback AC and DC field cancellation to 1kHz Real time field measurement 3-axis field cancellation Real time outputs scaling 10 V/µT with a range of ±12 Volts Source resistance of 10 kOmega Bandwidth of 25 Hz – 10 kHz (AC, DC)
Shipping costs must be included in the quote.
*Shipping terms shall be FOB DESTINATION
