Description of Requirement:
Replace 6 Progressive Cavity Pumps in Hoover Dam Wastewater Plant
The Wastewater Treatment Group at Hoover Dam, Lower Colorado Dams Office, Lower
Colorado Basin, Bureau of Reclamation, US Department of Interior needs replacements for failing pumps at the Hoover Dam Wastewater Treatment Plant. Specifically, influent pumps C and D, Transfer Pumps A & B, as well as RAS (Return Activated Sludge) pumps #1 and #2, for a total of six (6) pumps.
The Influent Transfer Pumps are located adjacent to the 8,500-gallon equalization tank. They pump raw sewage from that tank to the 25,000-gallon Equalization Basin, where primary aeration and treatment is applied. This process relies on two Moyno Progressive Cavity Pumps that are specialized to pump the high solids content of raw wastewater without causing damage to the pump and to fit the existing piping without requiring major modifications or refitting.
Transfer Pumps A & B are located halfway down the plant, next to the 25,000-gallon
Equalization Basin. Their purpose is to send water from the basin to which they are adjacent, to the anoxic basins above the Wastewater Lab. These pumps are essential for sending wastewater from primary aeration to anoxic/anaerobic treatment, which is required for denitrification.
The RAS Pumps are located adjacent to the 25,000-gallon primary treatment basin and serve the purpose of transferring Return Activated Sludge (RAS) from the bottom of the clarifier to the primary treatment basin. This process is critical for the wastewater treatment process and to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. This process also relies on two Moyno
Progressive Cavity Pumps with the same specifications as the Raw Wastewater Transfer Pumps.
The specifications for these 6 pumps are identical, as follows:
P/N: 1E036G1CDQ3AAA
MOYNO PROGRESSIVE CAVITY PUMP COMPLETE WITH 9.00:1 GEAR,
MOTOR, COUPLINGS, GUARD AND BASEPLATE
MOTOR: 5HP, 1760RPM, TEFC, 230/460V, 3 PHASE
*Must have duplicate to Moyno Liquid End with 6” 8-bolt flanges
Please Note: Moyno has sold the rights to manufacture this pump, so there are many other brands that can make them, but they must be identical so that spare parts will be interchangeable.
Skids must be 84 inches long X 15 inches wide and please provide 6 mounting tabs (packaged separately) for each skid that we can weld and position during installation.
The vendor must provide a 1-year warranty on all parts that will start upon date of delivery.
Pumps must be delivered to Hoover Dam Central Warehouse:
US Hwy 93, SR 172, Boulder City, NV 89005
