About this file
This document is an email correspondence between Katherine Hawthorne from Greenville County Procurement Services and Chief Deputy Marcus Davenport from the Greenville County Sheriff's Office regarding a furniture move for a Law Enforcement Center (LEC) carpet project. The email chain discusses the logistics of furniture relocation in preparation for a carpet installation, with specific focus on determining which areas of the facility will require furniture moving. The correspondence indicates that the bid for carpet and installation services has been extended to December 10, and the parties are clarifying the scope of furniture moving responsibilities for the potential vendor.
The email exchanges reveal ongoing coordination between procurement and sheriff's office personnel to clarify project details that could impact bidding costs. A key concern is whether the awarded vendor will be responsible for moving furniture from the currently occupied side of the facility, which could significantly increase the project's cost. Marcus Davenport indicates he is awaiting confirmation from a Major about the specifics of the furniture move, demonstrating the collaborative decision-making process within the Greenville County government to ensure clear bid specifications and cost-effective project execution.

The side that is in use. The city is still moving items out so I was told just the occupied side.

Does this include the unoccupied side or only the one in use?

Hi Katherine, I will have a solid answer for you on Tuesday morning. One of the Majors is checking on something.

Good morning, Chief –
Happy Friday!
During the pre-bid meeting we discussed whether the awarded vendor will be responsible for moving the furniture from the area currently in use. Has that been decided? If the vendor is responsible that will drive the cost up significantly. I have extended the bid due date to December 10. If we can’t let the vendors know by this afternoon we will need to extend the question deadline which in turn would extend the bid due date.
