About this file

This document is Award Delivery Information for a Request for Quotation (RFQ) related to food service supply for Fiscal Year 2027 at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, a Federal Bureau of Prison facility.

Deliveries must occur every Tuesday between 7:00 am and 10:00 am, with trucks arriving at the MDC Brooklyn rear loading dock by 8:30 am for unloading. The warehouse is closed on Federal holidays and will not accept deliveries on those dates. All items must be palletized on heavy-duty red or blue block pallets measuring 48" x 40", tightly wrapped with pallet wrap, and not exceed 72 inches in height unless prior arrangements are made. All items must comply strictly with BOP National Menu Specifications, which contractors are responsible for obtaining prior to quoting. Fresh baked bread must be produced no longer than four days prior to delivery, and frozen bread is not permitted. All certified religious diet items must be marked with the Kosher Symbol (OU) on individual packages or will be refused. Shipping companies are responsible for off-loading products; BOP staff and inmates may only assist via forklift and are never permitted to enter trailers. Receipt of delivery may be conditional for up to three days to allow for examination and testing. Items failing to meet specifications will be refused, and conditionally received items found unacceptable must be picked up by the vendor at their own expense within one week of noncompliance notification or will be disposed of by warehouse staff. Contractor failure to meet delivery schedules or specifications will negatively impact past performance ratings, which may be used for future award decisions. The delivery contact is Robert Robey at RRobey@bop.gov (preferred) or 718-840-5308.
