About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) for market research purposes regarding additive manufacturing (AM) suppliers.
DCMA seeks information from qualified companies capable of producing and delivering metal and ceramic additive manufactured parts to validate DCMA's contract management and AM oversight processes. The Government requires companies to demonstrate the ability to: utilize AM processes to produce full production units from Department of War (DoW) technical data packages meeting dimensional, mechanical, and metallurgical requirements; conduct and document appropriate inspections and testing as prescribed in DoW technical data packages; and provide quality assurance in accordance with DoW standards. Specific AM process expertise needed includes powder bed fusion and directed energy deposition for metallic and ceramic materials, particularly for applications involving structural loading, repetitive stress, and maritime environments.
Interested firms must submit capability statements not exceeding 2 pages in PDF format to ronald.w.edmunds2.civ@mail.mil or michael.v.harris14.civ@mail.mil by August 21, 2026. Responses should include: company name, CAGE code, DUNS/UEI, and business size classification; description of AM capabilities for metallic and ceramic materials; prior Government or commercial AM experience with contract numbers if applicable; and information on relevant certifications, facilities, equipment types, and operations including post-processing capabilities, heat treatment, and nondestructive testing (NDT) methods. This notice is issued solely for market research and planning purposes; no contract will be awarded, responses are not binding offers, and no solicitation is currently available.

Request For Information – Additive Manufacturing (AM) Description
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION NOTICE
Additive Manufacture (AM) Suppliers
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION NOTICE ONLY. This notice does not constitute a request for quotations (RFQ) or invitations for bid (IFB), nor does it restrict the Government’s acquisition approach. No contract will be awarded from this announcement. The Government is not obligated to reimburse respondents for any information submitted in response to this notice.
1. Purpose Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) is conducting market research to identify potential companies with the capability to produce and deliver items using metal or ceramic additive manufacturing (AM) methods, to validate DCMA’s contract management and AM oversight processes.
The Government is seeking information from qualified businesses on their ability to meet manufacturing, material, performance, and quality assurance requirements applicable to parts made with AM methods.
2. Background DCMA performs contract administration services (CAS) for Department of War (DoW), authorized federal agencies, foreign governments, international organizations, and others. DCMA oversees more than 300,000 active contracts valued over $11 Trillion with a work force throughout the continental United States and in many allied countries. Specific guidance on DCMA’s roles and responsibilities can be found in
• Federal Acquisition Regulation 42.302(a), and
• Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement 242.302(a)
The Contract Administration Service (CAS) functions assigned to DCMA when managing a contract include a broad range of disciplines:
• Contract Administration,

• Quality Assurance,
• Financial Management and Payments,
• Higher level Financial Analysis,
• Program Management,
• Industrial and Property Management,
• Safety Aviation, and
• Accounting
DCMA’s customers, which are primarily the military services and their supporting agencies, require companies working in AM to produce end items capable of meeting operational and structural requirements previously achieved with conventional manufacturing. In support of modernization and sustainment efforts, DCMA is seeking to validate its oversight as applied to multiple metal and ceramic AM processes, such as powder bed fusion and directed energy deposition.
3. Scope of Work Interested companies shall provide information which clearly shows the ability to achieve the following:
• Utilize AM processes to produce full production units from DoW technical data packages;
i.e., meet dimensional, mechanical, and metallurgical requirements consistent with legacy design specifications or Government drawings.
• Conduct and document appropriate inspections and testing as prescribed in DoW technical data packages.
• Provide quality assurance in accordance with the standards outlined within DoW technical data packages.
4. Requested Information Responses should include the following:
1. Company name, CAGE code, DUNS/UEI, business size classification (large, small,8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, WOSB, etc.).
2. Description of capabilities in AM, specifically for metallic and ceramic materials, structural loading, repetitive stress, environments such as maritime operation.
3. Prior experience producing AM components for Government or commercial applications, including contract numbers if applicable.
4. Information on relevant certifications, facilities, equipment (e.g., type of AM machines), and other required operations (e.g., post-processing capabilities, heat treatment, NDT methods).
5. Submission Instructions Interested firms shall submit capability statements not to exceed 2 pages (PDF format preferred) via email to: ronald.w.edmunds2.civ@mail.mil or michael.v.harris14.civ@mail.mil no later than 21 Aug 2026.
