Guidance of the 1000 Molecules proposal summary slides
Name of the team/proposal title Applications Vision Problem Statement How is it done today, and what are the limits of current practice?
What are you going to do? Clearly state the major milestones/goals/impact of a successful project using absolutely no jargon. Where applicable, provide quantitative estimates for project impact.
What is the focus of the proposed rapid design and prototyping infrastructure? Briefly describe the types of molecules that will be produced, experimental systems to be used (e.g. production organisms/systems), desired throughput, and long term strategy.
Program Objectives What are the applications that will be enabled by the proposed infrastructure? Include both direct and, when relevant, dual-use applications.
Provide an overview of the technical approach for accomplishing the project’s technical goals and deliverables What is new?
What will be developed?
What are the key technical challenges your project needs to overcome?
What are the major technical risk elements? How do you plan to address and mitigate these upfront?
Technical Approach(es)
Show the proposed team organization, cost, technical milestones (intermediate and end-of-phase milestones), and project schedule.
