Object Text:(U) Verification that new and/or modified (not previously verified or qualified) AWACS

40/45 aircraft mission systems equipment is operable, maintainable and supportable in naturally occurring environmental conditions defined in Section 9.0 shall be verified in Functional Group and lower level specifications. Lower level verification shall result from component level test, analysis, demonstration and/or inspection. MIL‐STD‐810 shall be used as a guide for testing where applicable.

Provision of active (e.g., EAGE air conditioning) and/or inactive protection to mitigate the effects of the natural environment upon COTS is acceptable. Individual equipment performance to its requirements before, during (where applicable) and after exposure to the environment shall constitute satisfaction of these requirements. Successful completion of all lower level requirement verification will provide evidence of successful verification of this System Set requirement.

(U) For new and modified mission equipment only (including COTS), it is acceptable to perform the verification for the Table 9.2‐1 humidity requirement in accordance with the temperature and humidity cycling as follows:

(U) Radar and NGIFF are both previously verified. For Radar, the verification was conducted under the

RSIP contract and for NGIFF, it was conducted under DO 0058 to the AMASS shell contract. No changes have been made to the radar system for 40/45.
