About this file

This document contains questions and answers regarding laboratory furniture and countertop specifications for a solicitation from the Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration. The questions and answers provide clarification that a 1" thick epoxy resin countertop order of approximately 10 square feet is for a sink cutout. A "special cutout" refers to additional cutting needed to accommodate a faucet. The 16 gauge mobile adjustable height tubular steel tables have legs that adjust the shelf height and include lockable casters for mobility, with levelers to secure the shelves and countertop in position once adjusted.

1. Epoxy Resin Countertop – 1” – Black : This calls out a LOT number but it is 1. I’m assuming it will be approx 10sqft for sink only?

Answer: When they create a countertop they make a large slab called a lot. The individual countertops are then cut to size and what is left over are the remnants (same thing with carpets). The 1 means that they will only be making 1 slab to fill this purpose and the 1” refers to the thickness of the countertop.

2. Resin – Special Cutout : What kind of cutout is this?

Answer: The special cut out of the resin countertop describes an additional cut made to accommodate the faucet.

3. 16 ga Mobile Adjustable Height Tubular Steel Table with fixed height legs : Are these adjustable with casters or fixed height with levelers? Seems to be a contradictory statement.

Answer: The tables have steel legs that are adjustable in height that will also adjust the shelves up and down with the countertop height. The levels are to hold the countertop/shelves in position. The casters are the wheels on the bottom allowing the tables to roll to new locations.
