Version 11-30-2016-1 FAR Part 11—Describing Agency Needs

STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)

GENERAL INFORMATION

Title of Project:

Annual Maintenance of GE Healthcare Instruments

Statement of Need and Purpose:

NCATS needs annual service maintenance of several important instruments made by GE Healthcare to ensure they are always in operational status. Because each system is a key tool in our entire operation, it is critical and necessary that they operate properly with the least amount of down time possible. Parts and accessory items must be compatible with the existing equipment.

These instruments are used daily and require yearly preventive maintenance (PM) checkups as well as service coverage in case of instrument failure. The IN Cell 2200 systems are automated high content imagers that are used on a daily basis. One of the systems is on the Kalypsys robot and is used twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The AKTA system is used routinely by the ADST group and requires an annual PM for optimal performance. The PM includes upgrades, alignments, etc. Any failure would require immediate professional assistance.

Background Information and Objective:

The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) is a part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), which mission it is to catalyze the generation of innovative methods and technologies that will enhance the development, testing and implementation of diagnostics and therapeutics across a wide range of human diseases and conditions. The services requested here are for annual service coverage of several key instruments manufactured by GE Healthcare and used in many labs across NCATS.

Period of Performance:

12 months from date of award.
