About this file
This document is a price quote proposal for Contract Number 10A2692 from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). The proposed work involves replacing booster pumps in an existing recycled water storage tank, clearing and resealing fiberglass tank riser joints, installing a sampling tap, inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, training personnel, commissioning, and starting up the existing installed wastewater treatment system, electrical components, electrical systems, and SCADA system by XiO Incorporated at the John Chuck Erreca Safety Roadside Rest Area. The approximate magnitude of the work is $328,824.00. The contract is a Small Business (SB) Minor B contract, and the contractor must be a certified Small Business under section 2-1.04. Caltrans encourages bidders to obtain Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) participation, but there is no DVBE contract goal established. Bids over $461,000.00 will be rejected per Public Contract Code 10105(b). Payment bonds and insurance will be required at the time of award if the company is the low bidder and awarded the contract.
The proposal requires a lump sum price. The bidder will be liable for actual damages or 10% of the bid amount if awarded the contract and then refuses to execute the contract forms. Caltrans may list the bidder as in default and ineligible to bid on future Caltrans projects if the bidder fails to pay these damages. The bid of any contractor who is currently in default with Caltrans on a previously awarded contract may be regarded as non-responsive and rejected.
