About this file
This is a Bid Proposal Sheet for Unit Bid Items issued by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) for Contract Number 06A3296 related to the removal and replacement of a current radio vault and tower located in Kern County. The project encompasses ten line items including modifying existing electrical service, lead compliance planning, daytime-related overhead work, traffic control systems, portable changeable message signs, job site management, water pollution control programs, temporary concrete washout facilities, treated wood waste handling, and building work. Bidders are required to submit unit prices for each item, with the total estimated project magnitude of $244,000.00. The proposal form requests that bidders declare the absence of collusion, confirm familiarity with contract documents and plans, and commit to providing all necessary labor, materials, tools, and equipment to complete the work as specified within the prescribed timeframe.
The bid submission includes standard Caltrans contract terms and conditions, requiring that any awarded contractor execute contract forms within specified timeframes or face liability for actual damages up to 10% of the bid amount. Bidders currently in default with Caltrans on existing contracts may have their bids rejected as non-responsive. A Disadvantaged Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) 5% goal is required for this project. Any bid exceeding $484,000.00 will be rejected per Public Contract Code 10105(b). Payment bonds and performance insurance will be required at the time of award if the company is selected as the low bidder. Bidders must provide their state contractor's license number and classification, federal identification number or social security number, and Department of Industrial Relations registration number as part of the proposal submission.
