Aparajita Ghosh
Technical Level II
Aparajita Ghosh is a passionate and driven GIS professional. With hands-on experience in
GIS technologies such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and PostgresSQL, she has also developed foundational skills in machine learning, LiDAR data processing, 3D modeling, and web development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Proficient in Python and R, Aparajita is eager to leverage her geospatial knowledge and technical abilities to make impactful contributions.
GIS Specialist 1, Lead Service Line (LSL) Inventories Project, City of Revere, Revere, Massachusetts. Aparajita has been actively engaged in processing tie cards from three different sources to capture public-side information and verify the presence of lead in service lines. After extracting the necessary data, she played a key role in establishing and updating the inventory database for these public-side locations, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the information. She also supported the
Revere tie card extraction production and QA/QC teams by conducting quality assurance and control processes on the network database using advanced technologies.
Her efforts in utilizing extracted tie cards within the ArcGIS web review tool were integral to the broader Lead Service Line (LSL) inventory initiative, contributing to improved decision-making regarding water system materials.
GIS Specialist 1, Lead Service Line (LSL) Inventories Project, City of Guam, Guam, U.S.A. Aparajita is developing a comprehensive drinking water system materials inventory. She utilized client-specific standard templates (excel-based) and the ArcGIS web application tool to update records for both utility-owned and customer-owned portions of service lines. She was also responsible for reviewing existing GIS records to gather critical information, such as service line materials, sizes, and installation dates, which she then transferred into the designated columns of the inventory template, ensuring alignment with the latest client-specific requirements.
GIS Specialist 1, City of Hollywood Impervious Surface Area Digitization Project, City of Hollywood, Hollywood, Florida. Aparajita participated in the City of
Hollywood project, focusing on the digitization of impervious surfaces using ArcGIS Pro software. Her responsibilities included digitizing only the impervious surfaces within parcel boundaries and meticulously recording relevant attributes for both the impervious areas and the parcels themselves. After digitizing, she added the folio number from each parcel to the impervious surface feature class for accurate tracking.
She also verified parcels with no impervious surface cover. Cross-referencing the data with google street view, this work aimed to gather precise information for tax calculation purposes, supporting effective land management and urban planning initiatives.
