About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Nuclear Weapons Center to conduct market research for CNC repair services for damaged threads on Common Strategic Rotary Launcher (CSRL) weapon bracket bolt holes. The RFI seeks to identify potential contractors capable of performing precise machining work on a critical component of the B-52 Stratofortress bomber, with a required 30-calendar-day turnaround time for repair completion.

The comprehensive survey requires detailed responses covering technical capabilities, security clearance, facility equipment, quality management systems, past performance, and contract strategy preferences. Potential respondents must provide information about their CNC machining expertise, weapon systems experience, dimensional inspection processes, and verification documentation. Responses are due by close of business on August 8, 2025, and must be submitted via email to specified Air Force contracting personnel. The RFI emphasizes that participation does not guarantee future contract opportunities and is strictly for market research planning purposes.

COMMON STRATEGIC ROTARY LAUNCHER

PURPOSE/DESCRIPTION

The Government is conducting market research to identify potential sources that possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet qualification requirements for the CNC repair of damaged threads on Common Strategic Rotary Launcher (CSRL) (A/A48K-1(V)2) weapon bracket bolt holes. The CSRL (A/A48K-1(V)2) is a vital component of the B-52 Stratofortress bomber's offensive strike capability. Maintaining the full operational capacity of these launchers is paramount. This RFI seeks qualified contractors capable of executing these CNC repairs on a

CSRL unit identified as requiring remediation for this specific thread damage. The selected contractor will be responsible for executing the CNC machining process in accordance with

Boeing exhibit 520-13350, drawing 405-11112 (non-proprietary), on a Common Strategic Rotary

Launcher (CSRL). The specific tasks within the Process Guide that the contractor will be responsible for are detailed in the Contractor Capability Survey below. Due to the critical role of the CSRL in strategic operations, a rapid turnaround time is essential. The selected contractor must be able to complete all work within 30 calendar days of receiving the CSRL assembly.

Part II. Capability Survey Questions

NOTE: In this section, tailor the questions to your program. Below are sample questions.

Please number your questions in your final draft so vendors can relate their information to the specific question. Not all of the questions will apply to every program. Your requirement is unique to your customer and you may need to generate additional questions to adequately address your requirement. There is no limit to how many questions may be presented in the questionnaire, but keep in mind vendors are not being reimbursed for responding to the survey so the more information you ask for the less interested they will be in responding to your survey.

A. General Capability Questions:

1. Security Clearance: Does your company possess or is it eligible to obtain a security clearance at the level of Distribution Statement D (Distribution authorized to the

Department of Defense and DoD contractors only; critical technology)? Please provide details.
