Question/Answers
CRHC24-045
1) Are there any specs for how the fence is to be built and for the material?
a. Post size – all 4” posts? Yes
b. Can the line posts be 2 7/8”? No
c. Can we drive the posts in lieu of setting them in concrete footings (this helps with frost heave)? No
d. Post spacing – 6’ or 8’ on center with the slats is recommended. 6’ on center if we drive the posts is what we would recommend. 8’
e. Would there be any bracing at the terminal posts or tension wire along the bottom of the fence? Where this is chain link fence if bracing and tension wire are common practice then yes we need it.
f. Can we surface mount any posts that would be on the concrete area? No
g. What color slats? Brown
h. Are there any specifications on the operator / keypad for the West Gate? What horsepower operator? Below are the pictures of the existing operator which I am sure is now obsolete so a replacement that is similar, but an updated version is what I would be looking for.
2) For the removal:
a. Can we cut the posts off at grade? No
b. Are we to remove the footings and backfill the holes? Yes
i. Is backfill compaction testing required? No
c. Do you want us to haul the removed fence/materials or do you wish to salvage those? To be removed and disposed of by vendor.
