Specifications

Cove Recreation Site Aggregate

June 29, 2022

Acquiring aggregate (crushed and uncrushed) for road and campground site repairs and resurfacing for the Bureau of Land Management Cove Recreation Site located on Highway 51 near Bruneau Idaho.

Material will be delivered at the specified work area and provided, as needed, to the project site.

Physical Location: Cove Road, off Hwy 78. GPS Coordinates: 42°56’12.16” N, 115°57’01.38” W

Hours of Delivery: 7:30am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday excluding Federal Holidays.

Method of Delivery: Material shall be delivered by conventional trucking methods to the work site, excluding the use of side or end dump trailers. Material will be unloaded at various locations throughout the Cove Recreation Site.

Schedule for Delivery: All material will be phone ordered in advance by BLM staff. Each order will be scheduled with an allowable lead time up to 48 hours. Deliveries shall be scheduled according to the requested time frame of the BLM.

Payment: Invoices shall be submitted through IPP for payment, after material is delivered to the site with supporting bill of lading ticket. All material shall be verified by weight slips or delivery ticked with delivery volume or net weight

Materials to be provided:

• Uncrushed aggregate 6 inch minus (pit run) per Table 1 gradation. Material shall conform to Idaho Standards for Public Works Construction (ISPWC) Division 801 specification. Material shall be inspected and approved by the Government prior to delivery.

• Crushed aggregate for base material shall meet the gradation for ¾ inch (Type 1) and conform to ISPWC Section 802 for (Type 1) ¾ inch crushed base aggregate. Material shall be inspected and approved by the government prior to delivery.

The Government desires the aggregate properties, including color, to be consistent for the duration of the contract, which typically requires the aggregate to come from the same location for the duration of the contract.

Inspection: Material must be inspected and approved by the Government prior to delivery. The Government intends to inspect the product at the point of origin before any delivery is made. Approval may be given for multiple deliveries without further inspection. The Government reserves the right to inspect at any time during the duration of the contract and may reject delivered loads that do not meet the contract specifications.

The contractor must notify the COR or the Contracting Officer of any change to the source of the material or process methods or equipment used in processing the material after inspection has been approved. Notification must occur prior to any deliveries after any changes described above.
