The top three most qualified artists will be invited to submit a Request for Proposal (RFP), with the project targeted for completion by December 2025.
The project has a total artist fee of $250,000, with the county providing the redwood logs. Artists are responsible for all other materials, equipment, and installation costs, including wood transfer, fabrication, shipping, and installation. To be eligible, artists must have a minimum of five years' experience in furniture manufacturing and installation for projects over $150,000 and reside in one of nine Bay Area counties. The RFQ strongly encourages applications from artists of color, BIPOC, women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and members of historically marginalized groups.
