1.2. Background

The Dane County Consolidated Food Service (CFS) facility relies on multiple commercial refrigeration systems to support daily meal preparation and storage operations for County facilities. The existing refrigeration equipment has reached the end of its useful service life, resulting in increasing maintenance needs, equipment failures, and operational concerns. Maintaining reliable refrigeration is critical to ensure uninterrupted food service operations and protect food inventory.

Key considerations for vendors include performing work within an active food service facility, maintaining safe and sanitary work areas, coordinating construction activities to minimize disruptions to ongoing operations, accommodating limited staging space, and completing the work within the project schedule. The County encourages all bidders to carefully review the site conditions and Contract

Documents and provide a complete, functional installation in accordance with the project plans and specifications.
