About this file
The document is a confined space assessment workbook that evaluates several potential confined spaces at a public works facility, including a potable water supply vault, a storage tank, a well head vault, and septic tanks. The assessment provides details on the specific conditions of each space, the potential hazards, and the safety precautions and personal protective equipment required for entry, such as lockout-tagout procedures, ventilation, fall protection, and atmospheric testing. The related state and local contract opportunity is an RFQ for the maintenance and repair of the drinking water system at the public works facility, which is issued by Marion County and the City of Salem, Oregon.
The assessment workbook indicates that contractors may need to enter these confined spaces to perform maintenance tasks, and provides guidance on the necessary safety measures. Prior to any entry, all hazards must be assessed, and appropriate controls implemented. The RFQ likely seeks qualified contractors to provide these maintenance and repair services for the facility's drinking water system, which includes the evaluated confined spaces.
