About this file

This is a dog park rules document issued by the City of Tampa, Florida (Hillsborough County jurisdiction) for the operation and use of community dog park facilities. The document establishes operational guidelines for a dog park that is open from sunrise to sunset and outlines behavioral and administrative requirements for dog owners and their pets. Dogs classified as dangerous by Hillsborough County are prohibited from using the facility, and owners are held responsible for their dogs' actions and behavior. Dogs displaying aggression or persistent barking must be removed from the premises immediately. All dogs must display current County registration tags and cannot be in heat or left unattended. Children under 14 years of age require adult supervision while at the facility.

The rules establish specific sanitation requirements and enforcement mechanisms, including a $150 fine per City Ordinance 16.38.f for owners who fail to remove dog waste from the premises. Contact procedures are provided for behavioral or safety concerns, with non-emergency calls directed to (813) 231-6130 and emergency situations requiring 911 calls. Users are advised that the dog park is used at their own risk. This document relates to the Community Space Signs procurement project being conducted by Parks and Recreation for the Downtown Interchange project, where these rules would be referenced on signage installed in three new community spaces currently under construction.
