About this file
This document is a Minimum Requirements Document for a Computer Controlled Audiometer with Bio-acoustic Simulator. The U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM/PHD) requires 30 units of each item due to the age and depleted backup equipment stores of the current systems, which are over 12 years old.
The key requirements for the Computer Controlled Audiometer include compatibility with DOEHRS-HC/DR, the ability to conduct functional and acoustic calibration, publish compliant Air Force forms, have a manual mode, unlimited stored subject and audiograms, OSHA compliance, reporting capabilities, specific testing frequencies, and compatibility with existing Benson Medical equipment. The Bio-acoustic Simulator must be powered by the audiometer, have specific test frequencies and response thresholds, and physical dimensions. This requirement is related to Solicitation Number COMBO-AFRL-PZLEQ-2024-0012 issued by the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Research Laboratory.

Minimum Requirements Document
Computer Controlled Audiometer with Bio-acoustic Simulator
Document Date: May 1, 2024
Background & Scope:
USAFSAM/PHD requires new Computer Controlled Audiometer with Bio-acoustic Simulator due to age of current equipment and depleted back-up equipment stores. Actional age of equipment is unknown, however it is over 12 years old since it was moved up from Brooks AFB, when USAFSAM moved here in 2012. Life expectancy for medical equipment is typically 10 years. Due to our depleted back-up stores, we will need to start reducing our class size if equipment breaks since students need functioning equipment to test out of the course.
Requirements:
The vendor shall provide a quantity of thirty (30) units of the Computer Controlled Audiometer and thirty (30) units of the Bio-acoustic Simulator
Salient Characteristics:
CCA-200 – Computer Controlled Audiometer
1. System must be compatible with DOEHRS-HC/DR.
a. DAFI 48-127, Attachment 3; A3.1 & A3.2
2. System must be a computer-controlled Audiometer
3. System must run functional and acoustic calibration through the Bio-acoustic simulator.
4. System must be able to publish AirForce compliant forms such as AF2215, AF2216, AF2217, AF1672
5. System must have a manual mode option
6. System must have no limit to number of stored subject and audiograms
7. System must be OSHA compliant.

Warning Shift list, Summary,
9. System needs have the testing frequencies of 500, 1k, 2k, 3k, 4k, 6k, 8kHz, crystal controlled.
10. System must come with a TDH-39 Headset, Response Switch, 12 ft. Serial Extension
Cable, Booth Mounting Plate, Screws, Calibration Certificate, USB CIC, Power Supply and Power Cord.
11. System must have the following dimensions: 3¼ inches x 5 inches x 1¼ inches.
